This quilt was pieced by the Thumbstall Quilt Guild and it looks great. Guild members volunteer to work on a block individually and bring it back the next month. The blocks are then pieced together by a committee of members. It seems to me that it would be difficult to end up with a perfectly pieced quilt, but it was perfect. I love how the block created movement throughout the quilt, much like the ebb and flow of life. The color combination was selected based on the purpose of the quilt. This quilt will be given to a military member under the Guild’s new Quilted in Gratitude Program. The block can be found under two different names, either monkey wrench block or can be found under snail trail block. I quilted the piece with a design called Frozen Swirls b2b, which caught my eye and complements the quilt.
